Here’s the catch: if a player buys even one Reliquary individually, they become locked out of Diablo IV Gold the 1,000 Platinum bundle. That forces them to purchase the remaining Reliquaries at full price, costing them an extra 500 Platinum. This setup punishes players who don’t know the system inside and out and creates a sense of buyer’s remorse that shouldn’t exist in a seasonal content model.

Even more questionable is the Deluxe Battle Pass Bundle. At 2,800 Platinum, it costs nearly triple the regular bundle’s price. Yet the only differences are a pet and a set of cosmetic wings-items that many consider superficial at best. The core armor sets are identical to those in the standard package. Players are essentially being asked to spend an additional $20 for two purely aesthetic additions.

Blizzard’s developers have acknowledged the backlash. In a Campfire Chat livestream, they stated that they had received “overwhelming feedback” on the Reliquary system’s shortcomings and promised improvements-but not until after Season 9. That means players are stuck with the current model for the foreseeable future.

Adam Fletcher, Blizzard’s director of social and content marketing, took to Reddit to offer further clarification. He said the intent was to “create something for everyone” and ensure both free and paying players had something to enjoy. Fletcher also addressed future crossover events, promising more balanced offerings and better value following the poorly received Berserk collaboration. That crossover was seen by many as little more than an opportunity to sell high-priced cosmetics with buy Diablo IV Items minimal gameplay relevance.
